Curve Media is an unscripted production company led by Emmy and BAFTA award-winning producers Rob Carey and Camilla Lewis.

The company was formed in 2014 by key creatives Rob Carey (American Pickers, Air Crash Investigation, Property Brothers, Worst Driver) and Camilla Lewis (Trauma, Four Rooms, Great British Railway Journeys, Grand Designs) and has risen to be a top UK independent producer. 

With permanent production bases in London and Cardiff, and production capability globally, Curve specialise in high quality long-running factual and entertainment content for the worlds biggest platforms including the BBC, Disney+, Channel 4, Netflix, Sky, ITV, Paramount+, Discovery+, and Channel 5.

The company was formed in 2014 and has risen to be one of the top UK independent producers. Our shows are characterised as popular subjects with a big twist and broad appeal. Our content is united by key characteristics, high-quality production values and unmissable storytelling.

Camilla Lewis

CEO
Camilla Lewis founded Curve Media in 2014 with Rob. Camilla has spent her career creating high-quality, entertaining programming for the world’s best broadcasters. She has created and overseen some of the best-known brands on British television including Four Rooms, Great British Railway Journeys, Escape to the Country and Grand Designs.

Camilla began her career producing BBC factual and current affairs strands including Watchdog. She was Deputy Editor of Tomorrow’s World before being appointed Head of Factual at CBBC, where she commissioned and executive produced all factual programming winning RTS and BAFTA’s. In 2003, she became an Executive Producer in the BBC’s specialist factual department, responsible for high profile, critically acclaimed output including, Trauma and Should I Worry About…? She then joined talkbackTHAMES / FremantleMedia as Head of Factual Features overseeing some of the UK’s highest rating formats.

Camilla joined Cineflix in 2011 as UK Managing Director. In that time, she created and pitched returnable series, Claimed and Shamed and Help My House Is A Zoo (BBC One), World’s Maddest Job Interview (Channel 4), Trauma Doctors (Channel 5) and All Aboard: East Coast Trains (Sky 1HD) and the EMMY-winning Pet School (BBC).

Rob Carey

CEO
Rob Carey founded Curve Media with Camilla in 2014. Rob is a content creator and Executive Producer with a strong track record of producing hit shows with popular appeal and high production values in the UK, US and globally. He has created and overseen many titles including American Pickers, Air Crash Investigation, Worst Driver, Property Brothers, Hider In The House and Salvage Hunters.

Following 10 years as a Producer and Director of documentaries and factual formats, Rob became Creative Director for Mentorn Media where he co-created and Executive Produced international hit format Britain’s Worst Driver which sold in over 25 countries. In 2008 he won the Rose d’Or Montreaux for best entertainment format with a format he created for the BBC - Hider In The House.

Rob was EVP / Global Creative Director for Cineflix from 2008 to 2014. He oversaw all development, pitching and production in the UK and North America across a wide range of unscripted content from entertainment and children’s television to specialist factual and documentary. Along with Camilla Lewis he won an Emmy in 2011 for the entertainment format, Pet School and saw the company’s unscripted output grow to over 300 hours a year with big hits on both sides of the Atlantic for the likes of History, Channel 4, Nat Geo, BBC One, Channel 5, Sky, NBC, HGTV and Discovery Networks.
Paul is an experienced Television Production and Business Executive who has worked with some of the biggest names and brands in the business, he runs all production management and business concerns of Curve Media.

Paul began his career at Carlton Television in 1994 and rose steadily through the ranks serving as in-house Production Manager, Line Producer, and Production Executive in their Entertainment division. In 2000 he became Head of Production at Brighter Pictures and oversaw a varied slate. He then joined At It Productions as Head of Production, managing a wide range of ambitious, high-budget programmes including live music shows, daily entertainment magazines, and award-winning documentaries. As Director of Branded Content, Paul produced TV series and transmedia content for brands such as Nike, Apple, Unilever and Red Bull as well as one of the UK’s longest running AFPs, T-Mobile Transmission for Channel 4.

Paul joined Cineflix in 2009 as Vice-President, Branded Content Partnerships before becoming Head of UK Production in 2012. Paul used his 18-year experience running large production companies to re-shape the UK business and lead the transition from Cineflix Productions UK into Curve Media.

Iain Taylor

Director of Development
Iain Taylor is one of the most experienced and successful unscripted development executives in the industry, leading Curve Media’s prolific development team and working across a wide range of unscripted content.

Previously, Iain was a Series Producer at Wall to Wall responsible for both developing and producing science and history shows. Development projects included hit properties like Who Do You Think You Are?, Building The Biggest and Body Story. He then became Head of Development for Cineflix (2004-2014) for all non-scripted genres and territories (USA, UK & Canada). There, he developed shows for over fifty different broadcasters, resulting in 76 new commissions, including hit US factual shows (American Pickers), high end docudramas (Manson), major lifestyle brands (Property Brothers), game shows (Instant Cash), children’s (Pet School), high concept specialist factual (World’s Maddest Job Interview), entertainment formats (Remote Control Star) and true crime documentaries (I Survived Evil).

As Director of Development at Curve Media since its founding in 2014, Iain has overseen huge growth in the number and range of projects. These include major returning factual brands (Salvage Hunters, Claimed And Shamed and 999: On The Frontline), formats (Perfect House Secret Location, Secrets Of The Driving Test and Clean It Fix It), premium factual (The Scream and Anti-Vax Adventure), medical shows (Geordie Hospital and Ambulance: Code Red), travelogues (Kate Humble’s Coastal Britain and Motorhoming With Merton & Webster) and specialist factual (Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure, How Did They Build That? and Nick Knowles: Heritage Rescue).

Charlie Bunce

Director of Programmes
Charlie is an award-winning programme maker with a passion for making popular factual programmes, he oversees all Curve Media’s unscripted output and is widely respected across the industry as one of the best programme makers in the business.

Before joining Curve, Charlie was Editor of Factual Programmes at TalkbackTHAMES where he was Executive Producer on Grand Designs for over 8 years along with co-creating Great British Railway Journeys and Four Rooms.

In his 5 years at Curve, Charlie has Executive Produced some of our most popular series, including BBC One’s BAFTA-nominated Our Dementia Choir with Vicky McClure, Channel 4’s Perfect House, Secret Location, Channel 5’s Kew Gardens: A Year In Bloom and How Did They Build That? for Smithsonian/Paramount+. Charlie became our Head of Programmes in 2021.

Claire Simpson

Executive Producer
Claire Simpson is a vastly experienced and highly respected programme maker who has been with Curve Media since our launch in 2014. Claire is Executive Producer on some of our longest-running series, including: 999: On The Front Line, and the 3 main Salvage Hunters brands. She has been instrumental in our access-driven documentaries and factual series and has a vital part to play in ensuring the well-being of all the team and the contributors involved.

Prior to joining Curve, Claire worked across a broad range of flagship primetime unscripted brands including: Watchdog (BBC One), Wife Swap (C4), Rogue Traders (BBC One), Professor Winston’s: A Child Against all Odds (BBC One), and Trauma (BBC One).

Sunshine Jackson

Head of Feature Docs
Sunshine leads the Premium Documentary team at Curve. She is currently overseeing a diverse slate of premium single and multi-part projects, including ‘The Scream’ for cinema release and Sky Documentaries, a high-profile feature-length film for Disney+ and a number of projects in paid development. 

Sunshine has spent the last few years working on award-winning premium documentary content for terrestrial broadcasters and streamers including Hulu, Sky, HBO Max and the BBC. Across the industry, Sunshine strives to amplify diverse voices and facilitate supportive and collaborative working practices

Sarah Swingler

Head of Wales / Executive Producer
As Head of Curve Wales, Sarah takes the lead on our biggest shows out of Cardiff including Geordie Hospital (Channel 4), Clean It Fix It (BBC One) and Ambulance: Code Red (Channel 5).

Sarah was previously Head of Dragonfly West and Managing Director at Endemol Shine’s Tigress Productions. She is a hugely respected programme-maker with a track record of producing hit factual shows including One Born Every Minute and The Hotel for Channel 4 and 1900 Island for BBC Two.
